Nookie Isn't Everything
Bipolar Romance? Think Twice
It all began with a letter I sent in to Bipolar Magazine (BP Hope) (http://www.bphope.com/Item.aspx/917/soundoff) in response to the question, "Telling someone you have bipolar at the beginning of a relationship could result in being judged unfairly. How do you navigate the dating scene with bipolar?"
Oh, I definitely had an answer. It's what is right for me, of course, and not something I'm saying is right for everyone, but it's a sapphire bullet of pure honesty.
Honestly? I don’t date. Past experiences with bipolar mixed with romance have been disastrous, and I’m choosing not to add that intimate stress to my life. Additionally, I am hesitant to drag another person into the life I am making for myself. But this is my choice and I have been very happy and verylucky to have the friends and family I have. Dating isn’t everything!
And with that, I discovered I was not alone, and that I had a lot of knowledge to share. There's the origin of this blog. And happy Valentine's Day.
